Blueberries, tar and licorice on the nose. Full-bodied, solid and dense. Velvety tannins. Long finish. Down on this! Needs at least two or three years to soften.
Giscours's wine is typically a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled tanks and the wine is then aged in small oak barrels (30-40% new) for 18 months.
Grape: 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc.
Tasting notes: Intense aromas of ripe black fruits and smoky notes. Well-balanced structure with depth and hints of spices. Juicy and open, persistent finish.
